European Patent Attorney position in Basel, Swizerland

Evolva has established a proprietary drug discovery platform in the area of genetic chemistry with three existing major partnerships to discover anti-virals, immuno-modulators and anti-bacterials. Our two lead compounds for anti-infective and cardiovascular/metabolic disease indications are scheduled to enter the clinic within the next 6 - 9 months. The company has about 70 employees and is headquartered in Basel with subsidiaries in India, USA and Denmark. This position is expected to be located in Basel.

The ideal candidate will bring strong patent competencies, a positive approach to business challenges and be team-oriented. In this critical and highly visible role, you will be responsible for harvesting inventions, patentability analyses, patent drafting and prosecution, third party IP analysis and strategic reviews of new project opportunities.

Requirements

• 4-8 years of experience
• PhD in chemistry or equivalent research experience in a related area relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
• Qualified European or US Patent Attorney
• Some licensing and contract experience is a plus
• In-house experience at a biotech preferred
• Good verbal, writing, and presentation skills in English
